This is just to outline the Initial setup of SRS client side for ACG.
- NB! INTIAL Setup - SRS is quite configurable. Start here. Then figure out what works for you and your setup.
Lets start!
Direct Download
- Download the client from the link above, its important to note - SRS for IL2 is not the same as SRS used in DCS, they are distinct.
- Additionally, installing via the auto updater, the required config lines will automatically be added to your IL2 config file.
Running the installer
- Install location as desired
- Locate Il2 Game directory, this may differ depending on if you are on the steam version or standalone
Il2 Config
- As mentioned, using the auto updater for install, and correctly locating your IL2 game directory during install, will add the required lines to you IL2 config automatically
- If you have a Force feedback device/stick shaker, follow the steps below
1.)Navigate to you IL2 install location -"\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\"
2.)Find "Startup.cfg" in data
3.)Open with a Text editor of your choice
4.)Find the section "telemetrydevice" and ensure it matches the below...
Code: Select all
[KEY = telemetrydevice]
addr = "127.0.0.1"
addr1 = "127.0.0.1:4322"
decimation = 2
enable = true
port = 4322
[END]
Setting Up The Client
1.)Set correct Microphone and Speaker devices (if you have issues finding the correct device - Windows might name it as default device, reference control panel in windows to be sure)
2.)Leave NO MIC OUTPUT as is
3.)Set Speaker boost to hear other players
4.)Connection should be automatic when connecting to IL2 server, But IP can be entered/saved for manual connection
Key Binds
To start off the only key bindings you need are:
- Select First Radio
- Select Second Radio
- Radio Channel Up
- Radio Channel Down
Global Settings
- Auto Connect Prompt OFF
- Auto Refocus IL2 OFF
Profile Settings
- "Radio Switch works as Push to Talk" ON
- Enable Text to Speech (for VR users) ON - (NB! VR users will need to speak to this - I am not a VR User, but this is recommend from elsewhere.... give it a try)
That's it.
If you would like to test it out, Both Combat Box servers are SRS enabled and have an active player base of SRS users. Jump on and give it a go
A guide to basic operation will follow-on in a post topic soon....
