Hi guys
I fired up the 51 today after a very long break, and saw this horrible gunsmoke.
It never used to be like that.
I then went walkabout on the interwebz and found a post where Mysticpuma made comment of it on ATAG and and Eagle.
Its really horrible, but I tried a fix suggested and it work.
So in case you need to its a simple deletion of 1 file (save it in a safe place just in case but remove from the directory)

It just seems to remove the gunsmoke completely, and thats cool cause its way closer to RL than what is currently in the game.
They reckon no major fix till EDGE is out though, but this seems to work ok for me, offline (havent logged into MP yet)

Re: P-51 Gunsmoke
From MP's video it just doesn't look right the way the smoke is when he climbs and loops. What file are we talking about in your post?
Re: P-51 Gunsmoke
It's a good easy fix which with DCS can be rare =P All you need to do is rename a file in the effects folder. I think they hired a hobo off the street to program the smoke in the game.
Re: P-51 Gunsmoke
Thanks for posting that fix Vlerkies, kept meaning to try it out and finally did today. Very simple (here's the way to simply remove the smoke effect from the ED forum)
Haven't tested but I would imagine it might help boost fps too. This and the tracer LoD fix seem to be essentials (http://www.aircombatgroup.co.uk/forum/v ... =57&t=1246).Psi wrote: ok guys after a lot of searching i just found the file to disable gun smoke
go to : Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\shaders\effects
and delete or rename PFXSmoke2.fx
