I agree. The resolution, clearity, color, wider FOV, is all better with the G2 and today it's the best choice.
The price however is a third higher, which is no small amount for many.
I chose the Rift S because my PC would need some upgrade to handle the G2 smoothly.
My plan is to stay with the Rift S for a year or so (learning to fly in VR takes some time to get used to) and then upgrade. By then, the state of art might hit the next level (getting better all the time) and the G2 might be 2nd best, who knows?
For now, the Rift S is a good choice for many. Not as good as the G2, but still nothing to sneeze about.
Regardless and without a doubt, VR is a big step up from flat screen. It's the difference between watching the action, and being there.
